iOS 7 beta 5 Drops With Revamped Control Center, Messages and Settings
The Apple stepped up its iOS 7 launch schedule this week, releasing beta 5 to the developers a short 8 days after beta 4. Categorized build 11A4449a, the latest version of the Apple’s mobile operating system comes with the overhauled settings app with a nifty colored icon as seen in the screenshot posted at the MacRumors:
Other features comprise a new control center setting that lets the feature to be turned off while in the apps. This stops control center from being inadvertently invoked when dragging up from the bottom in the app. Many people had some problems with the control center conflicting with buttons and controls located along the lower edge of the app’s UI.
The problem is that the beta 5’s control center implementation uses the all or nothing approach. The new ‘access within apps’ slider turns off control center for the all apps, that is not ideal. It would be good if control center setting allowed you to blacklist the apps that conflicted with feature. Or otherwise, you might whitelist apps that you wanted control center to work with.
Other features comprise new phone icons, an updated power off slider, banner notification (pull-down behavior), new on/off toggles in accessibility settings and a new Twitter icon. Changes are being followed on the MacRumors and its forums.
