Gmail An iOS App Gets Improved Options
Google has modernized its Gmail an iOS app with some improvements focused on enhancing message composition & viewing, and simplifying user interface navigation on iPads.
Tablets are awesome because the wide screen display not only gives you an enchanting experience but also some extra room for the serious multi-tasking, Carmen Wilkinson said ( a Google Software Engineer) in a blog Thursday.
When holding iPad in the landscape mode, Gmail app shows a new vertical sort of navigation bar on the left of the screen.
The column type navigation bar is an integral part of the interface when this application is used in the landscape mode. It has many icons for different app features, comprising different kinds of inbox categories in the app such as Primary, Social & Promotions along with message counter.
With the old version of the app, the users need to hit on the Menu icon in the upper left corner of the interface to activate the appearance of Controls that comprise inbox groupings and some other filters for arranging massages.
Another ability of this updated app is to display individual texts in the full screen view when your iPad is set in the portrait mode. Its goal is to make message viewing and composing process more convenient and comfortable for iPad users.
