xRec Allows You To Record iPhone Screen Without jailbreaking

If you want to record iPhone screen, you had to rely on jailbreak tweaks like DisplayRecorder or the mirror Mac apps such as the reflector that trick your iPhone into thinking that your Mac is an AirPlay/Apple TV ready device.

A new and innovative xRec has hit the AppStore that lets you record iPhone screen directly on the device.

Here’s how app working:

1. Open  the screen Recorder HD
2. Tap the settings & set orientation according to what you are going to record
3. Tap Record and then tap the start button
4. Press the home button and then open everything you want
5. Open the screen recorder and tap the stop button after finishing your work
6. Wait for the encoding, tap videos
7. You’ll see your video there. Tap the blue indicator on the video and save it to the camera roll. And that’s all you need to do.

There is only one drawback when you relate it with the jailbreak apps like the DisplayRecorder and the mirror apps such as Reflector, the recorded videos originate with red bar with the xRec just under the status bar ( the one you observe while using the VolP apps or while recording in the GarageBand), which takes up the precious screen real estate & may make it a deal~breaker for some users.

 It works similar to free & open source screen recorder for the iOS called RecordMyScreen.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone and then we still endorse buying DisplayRecorder from the Cydia. Although, if you’ve not jailbroken your iPhone and do not want to expend $12.99 on the Reflector, then check out the xRec. Available in the AppStore for only $1.99 [Through iTunes link].

Get it as soon as possible as we are not sure if the Apple has altered its policy towards such apps, or if it fallen through app review procedure as the Display Recorder was briefly accessible in the AppStore before it was removed.
